The European Cockpit Association (ECA), representing over 38.600 pilots from across Europe, and the International Federation of Air Traffic Controllers’ Associations (IFATCA), representing 50.000 air traffic controllers from across the globe, have issues a position paper welcoming the initiative to revise Directive 94/56/EC and the EC’s proposal of a new comprehensive Regulation on Accident Investigations. However, ECA and IFATCA are concerned about a number of serious shortcomings in the proposed Regulation and have decided to produce a comprehensive list of amendments for the Council and European Parliament’s consideration.
