5 May 2015 - FRMS Basics

The basics of FRMS for those new to FRMS, to have a good basic understanding of the main principles for implementing FRMS.

What is this day good for and what can one expect?

  • This is primarily an information day to explain the history and background of Fatigue Risk Management (FRM) and Fatigue Risk Management Systems (FRMS) as well as to give participants a practical understanding of how these systems should function.
  • Guidance material will be provided that can assist anyone involved as a stakeholder in the introduction of FRM(S) into flight operations, regardless of the size or complexity of the operator.

The interest in Fatigue Risk Management (FRM) and Fatigue Risk Management System (FRMS) is growing as EASA Flight Time Regulations now come into effect across Europe with the express requirement to consider fatigue hazards in operations. For many stake holders it is unclear what this means in practical terms.

Participants will gain valuable insights from real examples where a collaboration between management and pilots is setting the foundation for a best-practice approach. The European regulator's perspective will also be presented.

This is also an ideal "spool-up" day for anyone wishing to attend the FRMS Forum on 6-7 May that has had limited exposure to the terms and concepts of FRMS.
