In 2005 ICAO created a new type of licence: the Multi-crew Pilot Licence (MPL). In 2006 ECA has worked together with the JAA to guarantee that the implementation of the MPL in Europe will be done in a professional, responsible and cautious manner. ECA obtained a number of guarantees including proper training for instructors and the monitoring of MPL programmes. ECA's objective is that, through monitoring, we will make sure that safety will not be compromised.
